creak NICE

CREAK Nice, located at the CHU, is the PACA-Est region's center of expertise for the management of hereditary or non-hereditary bradykinin angioedema. It is housed in the Internal Medicine department at the Archet Hospital in close collaboration with the Lenval Pediatric Hospital. It interacts with the Grenoble reference and coordination center as well as with other reference and expertise centers distributed in a network across the territory. The care concerns all adult or child patients with bradykinin angioedema, from diagnosis to treatment with the possibility of participating in therapeutic trials.

A WORD FROM THE NICE TEAM

Since being labelled as a Rare Diseases Competence Centre in 2009, the medical team has provided diagnostic and therapeutic care to adult and paediatric patients, enabling patients to benefit from new prophylactic treatments in order to improve their quality of life.

Thanks to the expertise developed over more than 10 years, the CREAK Nice center has a local presence within the CHU but also in the PACA-EST region by having woven a territorial network with all the emergency services, peripheral hospitals of the GHT, private clinics, general practitioners or city specialists, extending from Monaco to Fréjus and as far as Draguignan and facilitating patient care.

We have had a long-standing therapeutic education program that allows patients and those around them to better understand the disease and to understand the different treatments in order to promote their autonomy and quality of life.

We usually welcome adults and children on separate sites, the Internal Medicine department for adults at the Archet Hospital, the Pediatric Pneumo-Allergology department for children at the Lenval Hospital; these two departments work in close collaboration to best support families and facilitate the transition to adulthood.

We regularly provide training in different departments and in particular on a recurring basis at the PACA regional conferences of our emergency medicine colleagues.

We also regularly participate in CREAK national projects, in particular in recommendations and their updates as well as in academic, registry and industrial studies with the possibility of participating in therapeutic trials with innovative therapies.
